Hello,

I'm still having problems with my final captured VCD via my DC10 card. Once I burn with Nero 5.0.4.4, and play on my Apex AD-500, I get slowmotoin and/or a slite fast motion. This happends throughout the whole clip - even noticed it on my Powerdvd as well, though not as bad. So, it doesn't seem to be my DVD player (as I WAS begining to suspect). I've noticed that during my captures, I may have aprox 11 to 23 frames dropped, and was wondering if this is the reason for these behaviour during playback. I'm also wondering if maybe I have to do something else (MUXing or deMUXing or something). I've heard about this when there's problems, but I never used it, and don't know how to apply it, (if it is the route to take, to solve my motion problems). I'm really loosing my mind on this, and I don't know what else there is left to do!

Does anybody share the same problems, and have found a solution to it. Please share. IMO, I've kind of figured out how to get (what I call) greate looking captures, (and they do look pretty good so far, and, as close to digital [Directv] source as I can get). It's not a secret or
anything. However, there is a hint of bluryness. Haven't quite figure out this one yet, but am not worried at the moment.

The DC10 isn't too bad. But, I'm not crazy over it yet. My dazzle gave me a little less trouble. But, my dazzle usb, never gave me this much quality that my DC10 is giving me.
* I'm using the RCA phono plug, not s-video.
* I've just finished capturing Star Trek, and it looks
pretty good! But, I have to encode it to Mpeg-1 first.
boy, will that be a long time.

** Ok, something to note for those who have the DC10. **
If you are having problems with the encoding window, where,
when you encode and nothing shows in the window, and even
in your final Mpeg, it's because versions 12a through 12i
do not open it properly, hence your blank display and mpeg.
However, if you use version 12, it recignises it, and will
display it in TMPGEnc's window and your mpegs will HAVE
VIDEO in it. Also please note, I have not tested all the
versions of TMPGEnc, only 12, 12a, 12b, 12d, and 12i.
I'm using plain old v12.

--------------------
"...oh, i just heard TMPGEnc's ding bell go off!"
FYI:
It took 27min, 46sec to encode 5,974 frames,
all 742 Megs worth of the first of 5 files,
and final file size for this encode was 65,250kb,
for those of you's just curious about encoding
times and all.
My xVCD settings thus far for this capture/encode:
[Video]:
mpeg1/480x480/4:3 525 line(NTSC)/29.97fps/CBR/2520/0/normal quality
[Advanced]:
interlaced/(line 2)/4:3 525 line (NTSC,704x480)/full screen/[x]de-interlace(blend fields)
[Matrix]:
[x]use floating-point DCT/[x]do not use hal-pel...
[Audio]:
layer ii/44100/stero/128
--------------------

So, I hope I've ben some help to those that needed it!!
Now, maybe someone will help me???

Anybody, Anybody, Anybody, !!!!
Thanks!
