I have posted this beofre and haeve done some further testing to check it out.
Recently I made burned a DVD using Ulead Video Studio 6 and the DVD plugin.
I was not happy with the MPEG Codec that Ulead is using as it created pulsing artifacts in different points of the video that were distracting. So I created an AVI file from it and converted it to a MPEG2 using TEMPEGEnc. The MPEG was flawless and I then imported it into Ulead's DVD Workshop for Authoring and Chaptering. After I burned to disc I found a DVD that I was able to play on everything I tried (or so I thought).
Although the first several DVD's I tested using the Video Studio 6 MPEG version worked perfectly everytime, I attepted to the play the NEW TEMPEG made MPEG on my fathers standalone RCA DVD unit and it failed to play properly (the audio was all choppy and slurred).
I have tried over 20 times to burn the MPEG differently using various settings of 8000-4000 bps and 384-224 audio. Al have worked great on everything except this one player. I was able to get one burn to work on that player but would'nt work on anything else.
I have used DVD-R media only as this is the most compatible that I have seen and used TDK, Maxell, Sony, Memorex and Verbatim (Which worked great the first time around with the pulsing MPEG every time).

Is the problem the TEMPEG Enc program or could it be DVD Workshop that is reencoding it differently than the DVD Plugin. The settings are identical in my MPEG I create and DVD Workshop and Ulead is telling me that DVD Workshop won't reencode the MPEG if all of the settings are identical.
It works in everything else but this one player so I figure it can't be the MPEG or it wouldn't work in anything correct?
Any help would be GREATLY Apppreciated as I am at my whits end on this.

Thanks,
Michael (Dezine)
