  1. ok, i found that when i attempt to record an ntsc svcd onto a pal vhs its black and white and has no sound. So i tried converting the svcd into a pal version but it came out wrong. Is there any simpler way to get this svcd onto a pal vhs without doing the long way of converting the svcd from ntsc into pal then recording?

    thanks for any help

  2. Yes.

See the How To section on using tmpgenc.

Using Tmpgenc, open up the movie file from
your cd. Load up a standard NTSC or PAL template
(whichever u want to convert to) and output as a mpeg file.
Make sure motion search precison setting is set to very high.

If the above does not give pleasing results, you are
going to have to learn about frame rates, as well
as v.dub or avisynth and possibly audio software
    like b-sweet.

You can make perfect transfers between NTSC -> PAL
and vice versa but often it needs a little bit of art as well
    as science.

  3. OR...Get yourself a PAL/NTSC DVD player and you can
switch between both formats as u please.

OR.. hire yourself a PAL/NTSC transcoder
