  1. I am capturing PAL DV from Panasonic MX-7 via Premier 6. Lower field first. Unfortunately the clip is jerky on playback and shows signs of interlacing problems. I know that it is hard to play back DV and I have been told not to take too much notice about what comes out on the screen however my problem is that TMPg seems to see the video in the same way and trying to encode it to svcd or cvd gives very poor quality. I have tried the de-interlace filter in TMPg and that seems to make it better however I am sure that my problem is either in the video capture or the codecs installed?

Check out a screen shot from TMPg...

(Note it is exagerated because of the gif compression, but it shows the type of problem I have)

  2. I had the same problem, but creating DVD files.
In the end, I ignored all the deinterlacing stuff.
Movement looked like a comb in mpg players,
and tmpgenc looked just the same.
After burning it to a DVD and playing it on my PS2
it looked immaculate. No sign of interlace problems
    anywhere.
Wasted a month, but happy in the end.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Hi there,
I had the same problems with capturing with the dc10+ and record it to DVD.
There is a lot to do with de-interlacing and stuff, but if u are using tMPGenc, there is a solution !!
