    Hey y'all . . .

Have a question concerning the standard (?) VCD format. At present, I capture old VHS videos to MPEG2 using PowerVCRII, clean them up using EasyEdit and convert to VCD using TmpgEnc.

I convert to VCD primarily because of file size issues - the default PAL VCD image size appears to be 352 x 288.

Has anyone else had consistent, good-quality output using any other video image size? I'm aware of some of the other TmpgEnc templates available on this site, but some of them won't work with my dvd player (a Teac 2150).

    Thanks in advance,

    B.

Sorry - should also add that I'd like to keep using the VCD format if possible.

  3. Read this:

    http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcd.htm

It lists the compliant VideoCD resolutions (and other specs) for both PAL and NTSC.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."
