I have tried making VCD’s from still pictures using Roxio Easy CD Creator, Platinum version. With this, I found that I have to create MPEG movie files from the JPEG pictures, which is a very tedious, but acceptable process. I can also add text to the pictures, which I would like to do. However, the software will not recognize about 90% of the jpg files that I have. When I try to add most of the pictures to create an MPEG, I get a message that says “This file type is not supported”. I did successfully create a test VCD using some of the few pictures that it would recognize, but when I played it on the DVD player the pictures looked terrible on my TV. My questions are, why won’t it recognize the majority of my pictures, and why do they look so bad on the TV when they look great on the computer monitor? The scans that I use are scanned at 300 or 400 dpi and most of the jpg files are 200-300K in size, if this matters.
Thanks for any suggestions
