  1. Hi,

Finally - thanks to some help earlier i am able to encode my avi's to vcd using CCE. However one thing i have noticed is that even though i decode the audio using decompress (which comes with avi3vcd), the sound starts to get out of sync towards the end of the film.

I've tried converting it to a wav and encoding it using Tmpgenc and then multiplexing it with the MPV file, but that hasnt helped.

I cant see how this is happening unless the frame rate is being altered, or the video is freezing up somewhere along the line.

The source is 48Khz and i need 44KHz for vcd. I have had problems in the past getting the audio to sync but converting it to a wav has always got round the issue.

Is it worth trying to split the AVI file in to smaller chunks before i encode it?

    Any ideas anyone??

Also does anyone know of a program which will go through and delete the bad blocks in avi files automatically? I have virtualdub and avi de-freezer but its an arse to do this manually.

    Many thanks.....

  2. To make sure you have audio and video lock, you will have to use a capture program that will lock the video stream to the audio stream, like virtualdub. This way, if the speed of the video capture clock and audio capture clock is not running at the same speed, the video capture program will drop or add frames to keep it in sync with the audio stream.

Sounds good but i have barely used Virtualdub. What settings do i use in it to lock the video and audio?

    Thanks for your help.
