  1. Hi There,
I've just downloaded two films in DivX format which I wish to convert to VCD Mpg. I am using the latest version of TMPGEnc and all seems well except for one thing - the aspect ratio. The films are in widescreen (576x240 pixels). I need to convert them to 352x288 in letterbox format. In other words I need to add the letterbox effect. Can I do this with TMPGEnc. If so how?

So far I have fiddled with the aspect ration settings using the Advanced tab but the best I can do is semi letterbox (14:9), very narrow bars at the top and bottom of the screen. How can I get the full letterbox effect which will ensure the picture is not stretched when I play back the VCD on my DVD player.

    Any help appreciated.

  2. You want to grab a copy of FitCD 1.0.4! It will do all the calculations for you, and will even provide the correct AVISynth script with the crop and resize parameters already set (including borders). It is by far the easiest way of doing resize calcs.
