  1. Hi,

Here is my problem : I have plenty of XVCD (very good quality, MPEG1, 704x576, 25 fps) that plays very well in most standalone DVD players.

I would like to convert it to DVD.
    ... without recompressing, obviously !

I got .m1v file but no authoring program wants to use it !
    Authoring programs wants either MPEG-2 704 or 720 x 576 either MPEG-1 352 x 288.

I search for a simple way to convert MPEG-1 to regular MPEG-2
    (just adding the MPEG-2 header)

I found no program that can do this.
    Can somebody help me ?

  2. Have you tried remuxing the file as an MPEG2 stream using TMPGEnc's MPEG tools?

  3. Yes, this encapsulates the MPEG-1 video stream into a MPEG-2 system stream. .. but the video stream remains MPEG-1 !
Demuxing it and I got exactly my MPEG-1 video stream.

Authoring programs are not fooled by this.
