  1. I recently tried to convert an avi to mpeg using TMPGEnc...the avi file seemed fine, but after it was done and I tried playing it in windows media player, and in a couple other players, and everytime the sound cuts out after 12 or 13 seconds...so there is sound for 12 seconds but the remaining hour and a half of the movie is silent!...and ideas on why this happened? thanks

  2. Try ripping the sound using virtual dub first and then in TMPG select the vidoe source as the avi and the sound source as the wav, then try encoding.

Let it run for about 10 minutes and stop it so you can test the output file first before encoding the whole thing.

Oh and in future, try maybe reading other posts. There is a very similar one to yours about 4 below.......
