    Why would I get a message that reads "can not open or unsupported" when trying to convert an avi file to MPEG? Any way to resolve this?

  2. what created the avi file if it was DVD to Avi try to make it again sometimes it has probs.

  3. No, it's an avi I downloaded off the internet from Napster. It opens in Windows Media Player fine. I just dont know why it's not opening here.

  4. there are many other programs you can try such as flask or avi to mpg ect do some searching. The only other thing I can say is to install the codecs again to see if they are conflicting some way. good luck

  5. I'm getting this same error with 12i when trying to open a MPEG2 file. I can open the same MPEG2 file with 12a with no problem.
