I am using ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO to capture from my DV Cam because it is the only program that recognizes my camera...anywayz I have tried many different ways trying to capture to the fullest with the program. When I try to capture with the MPEG encoding it says I get messages that file created was corrupt and some crap like that. So I gave up on the MPEG capturing and switched to DV/AVI capturing...I did get to start capturing BUT frames keep on dropping!!! Is there anyway I can get these dropping frames to stop dropping???
I have tried several programs to capture...MGI Videowave 3.0(which came with the firewire card) and 4.0, VirtualDub, and Adobe Premiere 5.5 but they all say they cant recognize the damn dv cam!!!
I have a P3 700 MHZ computer with 10 gigs available...
well thanks for reading

Premiere prior to 6.0 did not do firewire (iee1394)
Virtual Dub also will not transfer (import) from a DV source although i have successfully opened and edited an *.avi (DV) file once it is on my computer.
DV is ~3.7 MB/second
If you are getting frame drops then you have serious harddrive issues.
- Ensure DMA is selected, drive is defragged, anti virus and any other no essential apps closed.
Do a search I remember someone made a 'help' how to a while ago on this topic.
