  1. I would like to take select VOBs from different movies and join them together (eg best fight sequences from martial arts movies). I tried Derrow's guide http://mpucoder.kewlhair.com/derrow/joinclip.html
but the resulting file would not play off my HD using PowerDVD XP.

I then followed his guide again and then at the end opened the files in IFOedit and did a 'Get VTS sectors' to have all the pointers re-computed.

    Still no luck.

Basically I want take VOBs from different movies, join them together and burn a DVD without having to do DVD2AVI and TMPGenc.

    Any suggestions?

  2. Okay I figured this out. Very cool. You can use this method to 'edit' out parts of one movie or join clips from different movies together.

    1. Use SmartRipper to RIP all files using file mode.
    2. Use Vobedit and demux the entire movie useing 'demux to clips'.
    3. Identify clips to get rid of and delete them.
    4. Renumber remaining clip files sequentially.
    5. Use VOBedit to 'join clips' and re-combine new clips into VOBs.
    6. Use IFOedit to 'create new IFOs' and then do a 'get vts sectors'.
    7. Resulting movie plays with chapters intact.

I wish for better demux granularity but this sure beats having to re-mpeg the whole mess etc.
