I am trying to Use the Pinnacle DC30+ to make VCDs and SVCDS out of Analog Video. When I capture the Video withoug touching the Brightness / Contrast settings, the Picture on the Preview Screen as well as the file I have recorded is dark and contrasty.

When I output the file to Tape It looks Great, no different than the source. But when I encode the AVI file with TMPGenc to SVCD or VCD the Picture is just as Dark as it was on my computer Monitor.

I have played with Filters in Virtual Dub and Tmpgenc as well as adjusting the Brightness before I record the AVI, and all of those methods produce a lesser quality image, but the Brightness/Contrast is closer to the Original.

Another interesting side affect of adjusting the brightness/Contrast is the Blacks turn a greyish green...

Does anyone know what the deal is? I am using the newest Drivers with Windows 98SE. Can anyone tell me a fool proof way of making good quality VCDs from this Card? thanks!!
