i been using TMPGEnc to merge my mpeg-1 and mpeg-2 files together, but when i try to merge this one movie together i'm getting an error on cd2 (File cd2.mpg is not an MPEG file). the reason this is happening i believe is cause the movie goes in and out of widescreen and full screen throughout the movie. is there a way to fix this?

    thnx in advance

You cannot merge MPEG1 and MPEG2 files together (they require different headers). I assume that when you say that your movie goes in and out of widescreen, that this is a "letterboxing" of the movie, and the aspect ratio stays the same (ie, 4:3). If this is the case, then this would be transparent to any merging program. However, if the aspect ratio is toggling between 16:9 and 4:3, this would be a problem, since the the header specifies the AR and would be the same for all of your file.

this movie is an mpeg-2. what program can tell me the aspect ratio so i can see if it stays the same. before when a movie did this to me all i did is load the mpeg into TMPGEnc and use the template that the movie was (ex. VideoCD (PAL).mcf) and run it through again and it would work. i tried this with this movie and when i try to load the mpeg in it's telling me it's unsupported. so i used DVD2AVI to convert it to vcd. and when i do this the audio is not matching up with the video.
