There have been many in this forum stating that quantity of cd's is of no concern to them due to their 'cheap' pricetag, and quality is of the utmost importance. So, my question is this: Concerning those people, (if it is at all possible, as i consider myself a newbie as well) why not just rip the .VOB files from the DVD and write them to CD-R's and keep the DVD quality? Of course, if it is possible, it would take some effort to split the .VOB's into CD-R lengths and most likely editing other files as well.
If it's not possible, is there anyone willing to explain why? Is it simply the actual media layout of the disc's (DVD - CD-R) being different that would make it impossible or are there other factors involved?
