hey guys,
i'm trying to load the T2 .ifo into flaskmpeg, but i gives me error.
in flask 0.594, it gives this error when opening the .ifo file:

with the lastest flaskmpeg, it gives this error (i'm using thunder mism to open up .ifo, but it
gives me similar error):

so far, only happened with this .ifo file. also, ripped the vobs completely, no multi-angles removed or anything, so it can't be the vob files

FlaskMPEG can't parse some of the more complicated IFO files.
In these cases, you will have to use SmartRipper to rip in "Movie Mode".

vitualis, thnx for the reply.
however, i need to use flaskmpeg because i want to rip the special edition of the movie (rather than just the theatrical release)... if i were to rip it in "movie mode" in smartripper, it'll strip away the seamless branching where the extra scenes are....
so, is there any other way to get the special version of T2: ultimate ed. than flaskmpeg? how have others done it? -
anyone else able to rip/encode the special edition of T2, rather than just the theatrical version?
-
come on guys, there has to be a way to rip/encode the special edition of T2..........
-
Just use DVD Decrypter and rip all of the VOB Files to preserve all of the angles.

my bad guys... it turns out (at least for t2)..that smartripper doesn't remove all the extra scenes when ripping in "movie mode"
i checked the length of my rip against imdb.com and they match for the special edition....
but i'm sure this may not hold for other movies w/ seamless branching...(i.e. ID4, and kate & leopold...but i'm not sure, i used flask anywayz just to make sure i got the special version and not the theatrical version) -
The newer version of DVD Decrypter can parse IFO files as well... Any luck doing it that way?
It is a shame that FlaskMPEG can't parse all complex IFO files properly... I can say that it worked fine for ID4 special edition though.

dvddecryptor (parse IFO file)->dvd2avi->tmpgenc??? -
No, what I mean is, DVD Decrypter will act sort of like Smartripper in "Movie Mode".
Rather than decrypting the entire movie, it will parse the IFO and only decrypt a single title/angle. You should be able send that on to Flask then without problems.

hrm? do you mean dvddecryptor's "multi-angle processing" option?
i don't know where in dvddecryptor you can choose the stream/angle you want...i all know is the "multi-angle processing" option
could it be cuz i have older version of dvddecryptor? -
Perhaps...
Note, I haven't ever used that function with DVD Decrypter... it is just from what I've read from the newest version. At doom9, the latest version is version 3.something. I personally am still using v2.2 :P
Good luck.
