  4. Why don't you give FlaskMEPG a try?
    It will give you a quite simple way to choose a subtitle of your choise.

  5. using DVD2AVI you can't get Subtitles, you must use the FlaskMPEG method instead, or if there is another method i'm not aware of, you should use that.

    Sefy that way WORKS!

    Start DVD2AVI save project, d2v and audio file is ceated, start VFAPI, create a frameserving .avi (compatibel with VDub) open the .avi (frameserving) in VirtualDub be sure to install the AVI Proxy in VDub it's an .exe file called "AuxSetup.exe" run that file and select "install handler". Then add subtitle filter and other filters when you're done Press File -> Start Frameserving -> open up TMPGEnc and encode. (Enjoy your subtitle) if any other problems or questions check out http://www.doom9.org <- You can find the exact same guide there.

  7. Ok, take a look at:

    http://www.flexion.org/video/DVDConv/DVD2AVI/index.html

    it'll walk you through the whole process, lots of screen shots. Also lots of programs to run. Basically:

    smartripper -> DVD2AVI -> VFAPI Codec -> VDub w/ subtitle filter -> frameserved to TMPGenc

    Another way to go is w/ DVD2SVCD from http://www.doom9.org you'll also need to d/load CCE 2.5sp (and if you want to get rid of the logo in the bottom right a crack for it). In theory DVD2SVCD is a frontend program that will run:

    vStrip -> DVD2AVI -> tooLame -> CCE -> bbMPEG -> VCDImager

    couple of notes: the only color you can make the subtitles is white (as of now, beta 12 should fix this) and it only makes SVCDs so make sure you stand alone supports them.
