Lets say I use DVD extractor or yoda to rip the movie out of the cd. Is there any way of first encoding it to DVD quality then put the movie on a DVDR. I was thinking of ripping one of those double layer DVD's on my computer. Then after that, I wanted to get the movie out of the vob files and encode it to DVD standards. I know I'm suppose to convert it vob files to something else then I could convert them to DVD quality. I hope that made some sense because I don't want to loose any quality's creating a VCD. I want to rip the movie and let it look exactly the same as it did when it was on the DVD with my own custom menu. Any help or tutorials that could help me would be great.

When you rip the movie off a DVD, re-encoding it will cause it to become less than DVD quality. Most films with a running time of 110 minutes or less can be ripped and re-authored to fit onto a 4.7gb DVD-R without re-encoding.
