Anyone know how many drives Win ME supports? I have a floppy, 2 hard drives, a 16x dvd reader and a Pioneer A04, labelled A, C, D, E, and F.
Will ME support another 32x cd burner? Would this drive require its own new cable to the motherboard? Is this possible?
Thanks!

PC motherboards will only allow 2 masters (Primary and Secondary), two slaves (Primary and Secondary) and either 1 or 2 floppies, Im not sure. Probably your hard drives are your masters and your cd/dvd drives (I'm assuming your Pioneer is a cd or dvd) are your slaves. Your OS doesnt make a difference on how much hardware your machine will hold. So, to answer your question, you will have to remove one of your cd/dvd drives to install a new CD burner.

You can get a cheap Raid or UDMA controller that will add 2 more IDE channels for up to eight IDE drives, sometimes only 1 channel will work for 6. $30 to $50.

Many! Once under Win95 I had a 7disk scsi changer 2 foppys, 3 ide drives, 1 scsi hdd, and a CD-rom drive. A B C D E F G H I J K L M O drives. I guess it would let you goto 26 if you could find a way to shove that many into a computer.... who knows what it would do after that.
