  1. ok i finally figured out how to convert a divx file to VCD and actually got it to work on my apex ad-1000 dvd player (thanks to this website)!!! BUT... it seems that every couple of minutes the video will speed up or slow down and get out of sync with the audio but will eventually resync only to mess up again in another minute or two. VERY aggravating!! I am using TMPeng to do the conversion and some Imation CDs to record onto using Roxio easy cd creator 5 (incase any of this helps to figure out the problem).

I am hoping this is a common problem with an easy fix, ANY comments would be greatly appreciated ! thank you in advance,
    Courtney

  3. Thanks for the tip but that is not the problem that I have... Most of the time the audio and video are in sync. but the video will sometimes slow down or speed up for a second or two and will remain out of sync for up to around 10 seconds (but on average, will only remain out of sync for 2 or 3 secs). The audio portion never speeds up or slows down (the audio is always steady), what is giving me trouble is the video aspect. Hope this better explains my problem and ANY other responses would be greatly appreciated.

When you convert the AVI to mpeg1 in TMPGEnc, always load a VCD template, this insures the VCD is fully compliant. If you have a bitrate your DVD player cannot handle you will have problems.

Also the brand of disks can make a difference with some DVD players, you need to find the best ones for your player. Start with TDK or Maxell
