  1. Ok,I've done a ton of searches here and while finding some useful info I've come to a dead end.Hoping some kind soul can guide me...

I'm taking a 2 disc Divx movie w/ AC3 and wanting to convert it to a 3cd SVCD.

I was capable of merging the 2 Divx files together using Vdub.Since the audio is AC3 I followed a guide that showed how to save the audio as a .wav and rename it to AC3.Did that...I tried using Headac3e to convert the Ac3 to Wav but it came up with an error(CRC) and quit.
Next I used Ciler's AC3 tool.Ciler's reported 2 CRC errors in the AC3.Not sure what effect a CRC error has but I went ahead and tried converting with Ciler's.Ciler's successfully created an audio.wav file, however it made it in 48.00khz.I'm under the assumption that you have to have 44.1khz to do SVCD so here are my questions:

1)Are the CRC errors going to affect the SVCD?I listened to the "location" the errors were to be and noticed nothing out of the ordinary...

    2) Provided the current .wav file is OK,what can I do to downsample it to 44.1khz? Or even more so,is there an option in Cidler's tool that will allow me to change it to 44.1khz?

    Any help is extremely appreciated

The wav file should be OK. To be absolutely sure you could load it into Soundforge or Cooledit, and re-save it. These would also downsample it for you too. However, the simplest way to downsample is to use ssrc in a DOS window. You can get this in the download section of www.doom9.net, and the usage is "ssrc --rate 44100 input.wav output.wav

  3. Thanks for the help...it worked like a charm.

Unfortunatly TMPGEnc wants to give me some kind of "source range" error...

I think the way I would tackle this, faced with a DivX not made by myself, would be to convert each DivX in turn. Then I would join the mpgs and split into 3 using TMPGEnc's mpeg tools, finally multiplexing each of the 3 mpg again just for good luck. 8)
