  1. I have a few AVI (DivX) files that were created with 30.014 FPS and I am trying to find a simple way to change the FPS to 29.97 (standard NTSC VCD)! VirtualDub works great on the video portion, but the audio is out of sych by about 2-3 seconds by the end of the movie.

I am not greatly experienced with VirtualDub, so I am hoping it's just a setting I need to change.

    Thanks for any help...

  2. By changing the framerate you are also changing the length of the movie slightly. Reducing FPS from 30.014 to 29.97 the movie will play slightly slower and so be a bit longer. The only solution to fixing the audio is to lengthen it to match the length of the video. Extract it to an uncompressed wav then use an audio editor to change the length to match that of the video. You can then re-multiplex with virtualdub or if you intend to encode to (S)VCD just use this new wav file as the audio input to your encoder.
