    I am trying to make a backup of some of my dvds to take on vacation an watch them on my laptop. This way my dvds will not get ruined. I ripped the dvd with smartripper, fine. Next I use dvdx and open the ifo file and I get this error: MPEG2Dec: Error during decoder initialisation
    I looked through the forums and couldn't find an answer. I apologize if this has been asked before.

    Well cant help you there but try using a different program. Try DVD2AVI, thats a nice program. Never had any trouble with it.
