hello,

I have been editing with m2-edit pro, been able to get videos of non broken gops with the addition of 1 gop with only one frame in it (an I frame. I get the single gop with 1 I frame in it I believe because of editing out a closed gop sequence (commercial). This single gop dosn't bother me.

I can run my edited video threw mpeg_stat.exe and see my exact gop sequences that I have edited and they are correct.
BITSTREAM ORDER IBBPBBPBBPBBPBB
DISPLAY ORDER BBIBBPBBPBBPBBP
all correct.

My problem is when I encode them using panasonice mpeg encoder, the gops get all screwed up. I am encoding with a sequence of IBBPBBPBBPBBPBBI

I get a first gop sequence of
BITSTREAM ORDER IPBPBBPBBPBBPBB
DISPLAY ORDER IBPBBPBBPBBPBBP
then the gop's will be fine for 8 gop's and I will get an I frame in the 13th frame position. 5 gop's down from that a new I frame is inserted in the 10th frame position 9 frames away from the gops correct I frame.

Is this a problem with my encoder settings, or am I editing my gops in the wrong way?

I edit my videos in the display order, and when I have tride to edit in the bitstream order they where all messed up. I would get gops any where of 3 frames to 12 frames long, and would encode worse than my problem now. All I know is my edited videos before encoding are fine, but once they are encoded thing go wrong.

any help here would be greatly appreciated. thank you for your time
