Burning mpeg-file to vcd or svcd

I have a few mpeg-files made with DVDX1.6. How can I write is as vcd or svcd. I tried to use Nero 5.5.8.2 included the svcd pluging but the result won't work. My dvd-player does not recognize the cd-r as vcd or svcd but only as cd, although the player plays other vcd's well.
What other program can I use to burn a vcd or svcd from the mpeg-files ?

Sounds like your dvd player does not play Svcd's. One of my dvd players does and the other does not. There's a tutorial here on vcdhelp on encoding the svcd to a vcd.
