Ok i have a mpeg file that will not work in my Win. media player. I think i figured out the problem: When i checked the properties of the file (in wmp) i found that the Video Codec and Audio Codec were both "Unknown" (same with bitrate). I am pretty sure that this particular mpeg file should have "MPEG Audio Decoder" for Audio Codec, and "MPEG Video Decoder" for Video Codec.
So here is the question: how do i change that?? (My diagnosis might be wrong, so please feel free to correct me on that too.)
Any help will be appreciated,
Shamit1982

hi shamit1982,
you can try opening the file in a DVD application like Winfast or PowerDVD. that should work.
