  1. I have a Sony DVP ns-300 DVD player and I downloaded the sample NTSC VCD from this board. I burned it using discjuggler and on two types of media HP and Maxell CDR-W. I can't seem to play the VCD on my player. It gives me a c 13 00 error and that the disc is dirty. Anyone here know what the problem might be?

Any help would be greatly apprecited.

    Thanks

No CD-R listed, ulike the one I have NS400

I made a few VCD's for someone with that player, they never worked. However although no CD-R listed, I have heard other makes play CD-R even though they say they dont. Also CDR-W might not work at all, even on players listed as CD-R.

    Does discjuggler make VCD's ???

  3. That's weird. I read the compatibility list on this board and it says that it's compatible with CD-RW media. I've also read feedback from other users who have this DVD, and they say that it will read any type of CD-RW. And yes Discjuggler can be used to copy VCD's.

Anyone else know anything about this?

Well, as I said anything is possible, but officially the drive does not support CD-R, also you said you used CDR-W, then try a CD-R instead.

Discjuggler can be used to copy VCD's. Nobody said that Discjuggler could not COPY a VCD But you said

"I downloaded the sample NTSC VCD from this board. I burned it using discjuggler"

To "make" a VCD is not to COPY a VCD, making a VCD requires a authoring program that makes VCD's, Discjuggler does not !!

The VCD is not a CDR disk, its multi track with a properly constructed layout. Programs like Nero, Easy cd creator (VCD creator) and Video pack 5 are authoring programs that will make a VCD

  5. I just wanted to clear up the fact that most newer Sony DVD players will play from CDRW as you suspected. I have been able to play VCD's that I've created in Roxio's Video CD Creator on my Sony DVP-S330.

However, I've recently run into the same error message C:13:00 which flashes constantly after putting in a VCD. Other VCD's I've created in the past still work fine. This one in particular is no different, except that it is 60 minutes long and is the longest I've made so far. The ones I have that work were a series of 4-5 minute music videos. Another one was a 30-minute TV episode. Perhaps the Sony is having problems reading this long, continous file?

I've tried re-encoding it using TMPGEnc in both NTSC and PAL format. I've even tried making it a "Menu Level Sequence" to match the format of working VCD. Even tried 3 different CD-RW discs. Same error.
I was thinking about breaking this file up into 15 minute sections. Anyone have any ideas??

    HELP!!

Maybe you should add "But only if they are 15 min long"

Well, if you re-read my post, you'd see that I did get a 30 minute one to work. Doesn't matter...I found a solution anyway. Using VCDEasy instead of Roxio was the best decision I've made in a long time. More options and both movies burnt to VCD worked!

Can't say the same for Roxio's crap. Hard to believe freeware worked so much better!!

Brilliant, glad you found a solution so quickly, it normally takes a lot longer, so lets hope that VCDEasy will fix Panagiotis problem then

Personally I use Roxio Video pack 5.1
