    Ok, please help me figure out what virtualdub is, in simple english, please... what is it doing when the two frames come up and start playing the movie. Please someone help. I am trying to make movies to a vcd and am having the hardest time. whenever i run the TMPGnc and hit go, it starts to scan the movie and then half way thru it tells me that "permission is denied", what do i do next. i just can't seem to get it done, i wish someone could jump into my computer and show me how it's done.

    ok your permission denied message sounds like your running out of room on your pc, so check that out. as to virtualdub, is a program designed to manipulate avi files, either capture, clean up, cutting ect. more info can be found on their site...

    Also...

    1, load AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames. Video > Scan video stream for errors.

    1b If it finds bad frames, set video> Direct Stream Copy and Audio > Direct Stream Copy and SAVE AS, save out another copy of AVI
