  1. Right, i have used the search feature and read all replies and posts and tried them all but i still cant get the ratio correct.

    Its a film in avi widescreen and i just want to play it on my 4:3 tv and still want to keep the ratio the same, i suppose with the black bar top and bottom.

    Either it comes out sqaused on the left and right hand sides, or its just a little rectangle video in the middle of teh whole screen. Also this is what i am viewing from windows media player, i avnt tried buring anything to cd yet.

    using that TMPGC program.

    on the avi file it says width 576 and height 240. And Mpeg layer 3. I been at this for 2 hours and to no avail. I am gonna use Nero to burn it.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Dont view svcd with windows media player, it usually don't show the correct ratio(it depends on what codecs you have installed). Use either powerdvd or windvd instead because it "stretches" the svcd to the correct ratio and it will look the same on your dvd.

  3. AFAIK, WMP does not handle aspect ratios correctly so do not rely on it for this. If you want to preview before burning try PowerDvd (in file mode) or I think WinDvd can read from HD files too.

    Only 2 hours!

  4. Yep, just converted a 10 second clip and the ratio looks good.

    Another smaller problem, i am not getting any sound on the converted file.

    When i play the original file the sound works.

    any thoughts?
