  2. for VCD easy, goto www.google.com and search for vcdeasy and you are surely to find another download site.

video encoding is a very time consuming and processor dependant process. it does take time and it will max out your processor.

  3. Try out TMPGEnc - it really is the best encoder out there. Make sure you have selected the source aspect ratio as "1:1 VGA" and in Advanced options set the aspect to "Keep aspect ratio 2". You'll find all these out if you look around in the wizard.

Yes, encoding takes ages - I leave my computer on when I go to bed as it usually takes it about 8 hours for every hour of movie. Having said that, I am a perfectionist....

    Good luck!

  4. CobraDMx,

it takes you 8 hours to encode!?how big is the file when you get done? is it like 1.5 Gbs?

  5. No, it's standard 1150kbps MPEG-1 for VCD. It takes ages because I have my motion search precision maxed out, and I use all available filters to get the best I can out of that small bitrate.

Should I be getting faster speeds, even with these filters? I am running a P4 1.5GHz with 512MB RAM.

    BTW, I am a perfectionist

  6. PS - That's 8 hours per hour of input movie. So, a two hour film I just did took me 16-and-a-bit hours.
