I'm new, so go easy. I just downloaded a movie (first one), and in my attempt to burn it VCD with Nero, I cannot link the cue file with the bin file. I may have heinously screwed up somehow, because although the file is exactly where it should be, it is NOT a bin file. It's a .part file.

My question: what do I need to do with this .part file in order to be able to burn it? Is a conversion possible? If I need to just dump it all and start over, I will. But it'll kinda bum me out.

This question is probably dumb enough that I'm making someone's ears ring with it, but I've searched this site up & down with no luck.

    Any suggestions?

  2. nero is notoriously bad with bins and cues.. try using fireburner.

    www.fireburner.com

just open up fireburner and select 'file > load tracks' then select your bin file. it should load fine. you might need to re-name your file so it has an .iso extension instead of .bin ..

Thanks for the tip, Geek Rock. But, no go.

Somehow, I either converted the .bin file to a .part file when I was goofing with Isobuster or something.

What the heck is a .part file anyway?? Where the .bin should be I've got:

    1.part

    1.part.met

    2.part

    2.part.met

Ive checked the properties of the .part files, and they are in fact of the exact same size the .bin is supposed to be. I thought that maybe it was for "partial" but the files are completed.

    I'm stumped.

go to sharereactor.com and look through their newbie guide--it will explain how and why you sometimes will end up downloading more than the file is supposed to contain before you are actually finished downloading

Fantom Lord- ya nailed it dude. The first .bin file ended up larger than expected, and simply wasn't finished.

Looks like I posted in the right forum after all (Newbie.)

Thanks to all for the suggestions & help.
