ok this is what is going on i have a video were the subs are supposed to start at 9:20 lets say but the subs start at 18:20 how can i match them together so the subs are in line with the video please tell or tell me what guide to use thanx

Which subtitle format, video and CD format you are talking about?
Also please tell us, which tools you use and some source file specs. I am pretty sure then anyone is able to help. -
the video is 616 x 424 in size, 16:9 pal, 25 fps, constant bitrate 4000
the d2v is 16:9 616 x 424 24fps
the subs are .srt and .ssa
see the subs start at :18 they should start at :09
i use tpmgenc, virtual-dub, dvd2avi, subrip and many others -
I assume the source is MPEG-2, is it? Stange resolution btw. Check the dvd2avi settings. If the source is PAL, you have to check "field operation: none". Maybe that solves the problem. If not, I suggest to load the *.ssa script and the audio track into SubStationAlpha and compare resp. adjust the time stamps if necessary.

and how do you do time stamp
