Having weird blocks and slowness effcts from going avi - mpg

Ok i am trying to convert final fantasy to mpg so i can watch it on my hollywood +.

When its done it has weird wacky colored blocks showing up all over the place and, it stutters.

Please help me i am really new at it.

i got it to work all i id was change the frame rate to 29.97
