  1. I am using an STB PCI Tv Tuner card for video capture. I am also using VirtualDub and I set it up like the instructions say to. When I go to capture some video, I get the following error:

    Bt848 Capture Driver

Bt848: Can not capture at this time. If you are in full-size overlay you should switch to preview channel. Another possible reason is memory allocation failure. Restart application.

    I then click on OK.
    Then I get this message:

    VirtualDub capture error
Error 424: Error: Cannot open the video input device.

Help!! What am I doing wrong? Is it my Tv tuner card or is it VirtualDub the issue? Please let me know... Thanks...

Do you have other capture devices, like a camera, scanner ?. Sounds like Vdub is looking at the wrong one.

Try using your tuner software to first set up, then quit and load Vdub > capture, also check Video > source to see if its looking at the correct device.

Also at the bottom of the list under Video, there is a list of capture drivers, is it yours ?

I used to use a STB TV PCI card for captures until about a month ago... What drivers are you using? There are the original drivers that came out with card and then there were drivers released in 1998. Also, if you really want to get fancy then you can get the btwincap drivers at btwincap.sourceforge.net which work really well with the STB TV PCI card.

KingJohn is right though, check and make sure that vdub is looking at the correct capture device. If that doesn't work I suggest you try hte btwincap drivers.
