Just last week I had one that played vcds fine. this week I get one that has all the vcd support info whited out on the box, and no vcd compatibility on the front panel of the player. I read about it here, and someone said that it would never happen, but it did. so what can I do to get this thing to play vcds? And why and how would apex do something like this? By the way, it still plays svcds fine! Most others play vcds but don't play svcds, huh? Talk about retarded!

    confused as hell!

Like I said before in this forum, the 1200 is a total piece of crap. For a few more dollars, you can get the 2100. I just bought it, and it is a world apart from that other piece of junk. It plays everything I have. Regards.

I have taken the 1200 back and got an 1100 that still supports vcd and svcd. when did you get your 2100?
Because what I am saying is that from what it looks like, apex (all players) are from now on no longer supporting the vcd format. This may be a rumor, so I am not swearing by it, but supposedly apex is suing sony - and somehow this is resulting in the change.
