  1. After trolling thru the tools and finding TVTool, and installing it, then realizing it doesn't work with ATI cards, I discovered that it has horked the ATI MMC TV Viewer. By horked I mean that it launches, sound starts, splash screen goes away, but the application window never opens.

Now I know the hardware is working just fine. I can watch TV using VirtualDub. I even intalled XP on a separate drive and have MMC TV Viewer working there.

    Config:
    Win XP Pro
    ATI AIW Radeon
    AMD XP 1800

I've tried uninstalling TVTool, didn't help.
    Uninstalling/reinstalling ATI MMC, no luck.
Loading latest MMC (7.7), no good.

Thoughts? That did TVTool do to my system? Suggestions other than reinstalling windows?

  2. You could try uninstalling MMC, but instead of actually uninstalling, choose "repair".
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. Try installing MMC without installing the Media Library (that cured the 2-minute MMC startup delay on my old 9x system)
