Ok, I tried installing the virtualdub 1.4.9 handler. It worked on 2 of the 10 files I tried to use. All the rest TMPGEnc couldnt open the vdr file. I dont understand why a few files would work but not the rest. Anyone else have this problem?

ive had a similar problem with brothrhood of the wolf
when you open the file you want to frameserve in vdub does it come up with a warning about the sound if it does this is what causes the prob in tmpgenc to get round it
you need to save the avi files sound as wav
save the avi itself as an avi file with NO SOUND use whatever divx code you want it to be
you should be able to go through the frameserve process using the file with no sound and should have no probs with tmpgenc
the easiest way to see if this is the problem is to only save a few minutes of it with no sound and try it if it works your laughing if it dont youve not wasted 3hrs re-encode a file

thank you thank you thank you.
I havebeen trying to get SUBS into Brotehrhood of the Wolf for 2 days now.
SMOD hit it right on the head.
I did the following.
1) Extracted the audio like aI usually do using Virtual Dub
2) Did a Direct Stream copy of teh AVI with NO SOUND (that way I didn't lose any quality)
3) Set up the Framserver in Virtual Dub as described in all the subjects on this topic (I saved the file as wolf1.vdr.avi)
4) Opened TMPGEnc and used
video: wolf1.vdr.avi
sound: wolf1.wav
output: wolf1.mpg
THen I will burn the bastard using Nero and watch it on my DVD player as a VCD with subtitles.
Yee. Ha
Thanks again.
