ok ... yes i am new and so i am figuring out the settings for my process of conversions. the objective is to convert my (edited) PAL DV movies to SVCD's in either PAL or NTSC. The capture, editing and write back to DV is working excelent. The AVI file runs great on my PC. However when i convert to MPEG (either using pinnacle studio, trex or TMPGEnc) and wite it on CD it is jerky in hi motion parts of the movie. With TMPGEnc variable bitrate (max 2400) i get the best picture quality but the jerking is slightly worse as well. I am using VCDeasy to write the SVCD (great tool btw).
So i tried to see if i was able to create good SVCDs so i downloaded all tests from http://www.vcdimager.org/pub/vcdimager/.testing and they were great. Perfect quality (that is what i want!!) Now my question is ... anyone has has similar experiance or list of settings&checks to try out?
I am using a PAL version of the SONY TRV20 and a pioneer 333 DVD player (US version). thanks in advance for sharing your experiance!!
