I converted these mpg files from avi files using TMPGEnc ... the setting I originally chose for the video source is 1:1 VGA and full screen (keep aspect ratio) ... I have a full screen tv ... did I use the wrong setting ... because when I played it on my dvd player or vcd player ... the subtitle on the bottom of the screen gets cut off a bit ...
by the way ... can you clarify to me whether the video source means the input video ... or the output video?
What is the purpose of the "advanced features?"
Was I supposed to use the 4:3 525 line (NTSC) setting instead?
Thanks for your help.

lilt: could you please stop post same post everywhere? I have deleted some of your "double" posts.

1:1 = your TV better be a exact square....
4:3 is what almost all tv's are these days (except Widescreen)
Try using the 4:3 -

HELLLPPPPPPP!!!
do you mean 4:3 display as the setting or 4:3 525 (NTSC) ... because when I try 4:3 525 (NTSC) ... the same problem resulted ... the bottom still gets cut off a bit ... and more worst ... the left side of the screen is askwed ...
if it helps ... these avi files are files I downloaded from internet .. anime episodes ... and when I hit on the tab that said "video source" on TMPGEnc ... it states it's a 4:3 525 (NTSC) ...
sorry for so many questions .. it's just that I am very, very new to this ... and there are soooooo many choices ...
thanks.
