  1. I have been trying to get my movies to fit on one XVCD since ther are only about 2-3 minutes too long to fit on a regulare VCD. I was only successful with one movie that was already a VCD mpeg-1. The problem I am having is that no matter how low I set the bitrate, the file size is almost always the same, and even when I set the the bitrate drastically low (300kbps) the file size is only slightly smaller. I have been trying to convert from divx to XVCD with TMPGENC. Can anyone help.

    Number one ...before you do anything ...goto settings> then on last tab set the stream type to "mpeg1 Video CD nonstandard" .
    If this is set to Video CD then it just ignores any non compliant stuff you try to do......
    Also ( in TMPG) I always encode with MVBR and change both the upper(max) and lower settings to get what I want...
