No C programmer should be able to call themselves a C programmer without a copy of the Bible of C: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0131103628/qid=1024426380/sr=2-3/ref=sr_2_3/002...847650-2632831
"C Programming Language" by Kernighan and Ritchie.
This book is a classic. It isn't your "C programming for Dummies" trash, this is a serious book and it takes no prisoners. If you want to be a real C programmer, get this book. It is almost as much of a prerequisite as a computer.

  4. No point trying to lean C++ unless u learn C, u need C first.
U wont last a day tho, its so boring, i was really enthusiastic about learning c in uni but i really cant do ne C learning at home. Tis not all fun games programming.

You dont "know" C after reading a book dude, and C++ ain't easy either, even if you do know C. These aren't really languages that you can teach yourself properly, they are both very much open to abuse by the programmer.
May I ask why you want to learn C/C++?

  7. Safe,
Before you buy the $40 book go look at some tutorials for C on the web. This way if you hate it you don't waste money...
