  1. i have this problem when i ecode a avi to mpeg. it tells me that i have a decimal problem. so i check the forum and found out some ways to fix that. now tmpge always seems to freezes at a certain time. so i installed this antifreeze divx thing. now tmpge ecodes the whole file to mpeg. but now the mpeg plays all the sound but it stops and freezes at the same spot that it used to freeze at before. so in other words itll play fine untill about 12min into the show then the picture stops but the sound keeps going. can anyone please help me. i am using tmpge v 2.02 and i have a compag intel celeron with 510 ram and a 60 gig hard drive.

1, load AVI into Vdub and scan for bad frames. Video > Scan video stream for errors
1b If it finds bad frames, set video/audio to streaming and SAVE AS, save out another copy of AVI

2, Now that the AVI is junk free, load into TMPGENC.

Yes, the problem is... the new Vdub is having problems with junk frames.

Download and installed "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" that's a hacked version of Vdub 1.4. It makes a log of the bad frames. c:\badframes.log from that log you can see what frames need to be deleted.

    Should find on Kazaa !

You have to run the scan for each time you delete a block, as the number changes...

    Found bad frames
    8890
    8891
    8892
    8893
(delete this block first) then run scan again, as the frame numbers will change
    10223
    10224
    10225
    10226

You also have to jump to the nearest keyframe before you mark the start and end, in the above example

Jump to 8890 click keyframe back once, mark start
Jump to 8893 click keyframe forward once, mark end
    Delete
    Scan again

  8. You will have to delete all of them. Realize, of course, that ripping out such a large chunk of frames all together like that will probably cause you undue pain with audio sync. You are dropping out nearly 8seconds of film! You'd be better off getting a better source to begin with.

  9. That does seem like a lot of trouble. If you can get a better source, take this one out behind the barn and put one in the back of its head, so to speak.
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

Well your lucky, they are all in the same place, so you can select the start at 17542 then click the keyframe icon back once and mark this as start, then goto 17749 and click the keyframe icon forward once and mark this as end, then press the delete key.

Switch to audio and video > direct stream copy and save out another copy. 208 frames is not all that bad, you will hardly notice it in the movie.
