  1. Anybody else hate this crappy POS program? Whenever I download a video, I pray to God it's not in RealMedia! I prefer almost any other format over it.

  2. Hell yeh I hate RealMedia. Crappy quality, hard to convert, and the possibility of the file gettin damaged when down/uploaded. Unfortunately, many people obviously think this a good format to use, so you would find way too many rm videos on the net. Too bad =(

  3. I agree, but the only reason i've used it (i recently converted a file that lots of people wanna see), is because it's soo compressed, that the file size is very reasonable for people with poor connections. That's probably why RM format is popular, because so many people still have dialup connections. If everyone had DSL, T1, or Cable, RealNetworks would flop. Everyone would be downloading MPEG's, Avi's, (high quality) Quicktime files, and WMV8 files.
And shitty Real Media files would no longer exist...

  4. Hmm...you make a good point, Riot_Inc. I have a 56K modem, and I'd say its both a blessing and a curse to have Realmedia, I guess. =P
But I'd still actually rather spend an upwards of 24 hours downloading instead of like 3 hours if it would get me better quality and reliability on the part of the file.
But then again, I guess people who do that dont have much of a life......heh
