I have converted a few SVCD movies to dvdr now....each time when i go to play the movie the first second of the film is a mass of broken pixels which causes the movie not to play in certain players??
What i mean is that when it breaks up for a sec it then stays that way for the whole movie??....as i said before it only does this in certain players...which can be annoying because if any of my family or friends want to borrow ...it may not work.
Any help or advice appreciated.

Normally that indicates a missing I frame - especially at the start of a video stream
I frames are lightly compress and the only complete frame in a Group of Pictures (GOP)
The other frame are B frames and P frames
each of these frames are extracts of the nearest I frame
This is a simplification - here is a more complete explanation

This should not happen if you encoded from start though.
Of course this may not be the problem
