I've searched the forums and the web and haven't really found anything with clear commentary (sp?) and reviews on which PC DVD-ROMS are best for 'ripping' DVDs.
My PC is fairly fast, but clearly not top of the line, so I definately don't want my DVD-ROM to be the bottleneck. Can anyone recommend a DVD-ROM for 'ripping'? Tell me why you like it and how long it takes you to rip a DVD.
Thanks in advance,
FL-

most recect DVD roms are fairly fast. just got a cheapo 16X dvd rom (like 40X cdrom) and it is not the bottle neck. doing 5 pass DVD rips with DVD2SVCD using CCE it takes 20 hours with the longest movies and 13-15 hours with shorter movies. just straight ripping and one pass with no vaf file will do it in about 2 or 3 hours.
but as you see I like quality, so I stick with the 5 pass VBR
