  1. It take ages and was wondering can I still go on the net and plays games while TMPGEnc is converting an avi-mpg or will it ruin the video?

Yes. Just set your priority to your liking: Option/Task priority/When not active... Not too sure about games that take over your screen.

  3. No, I mean I have minimized TMPGenc. Will this affect the video quality when I use Internet Explorer while TMGEnc is still working in the background

No. I use TMPGenc with about least half a dozen other processes going on, including downloading at 60kB/sec. But, it will take a bit longer to do its thing. 8)

  5. tmpgenc is all software based on no "recording" in place when encoding so you can do whatever you want when tmpgenc is encoding. it won't affect it. if you were doing a capture from a video capture card, that would be a different story, but processing data/encodig will chug along no matter what.

  6. Thanx, I thought that loading a program would corrupt a video but it dont. When I capture, I lose no frames ever but when I load a program, they drop!! One more thing, why do I drop frames from a clear VHS (Star Wars)
