Hi, I am trying to rip a DVD with just the movie and put it on a DVD-R. I rip the DVD and use IfoEdit to take out all the useless streams. At the end I click on get VTS Sectors and the files are done. This is what I have left in my folder that I did everything in. I get:
VIDEO_TS.BUP
VIDEO_TS.IFO
VTS_01_0.BUP
VTS_01_0.IFO
VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB
VTS_01_3.VOB
VTS_01_4.VOB
This works on PowerDVD when I play it. But I'm just wondering that dont I need a "VTS_01_0.VOB" file. All the DVDs I ripped have one. If I burn these files will the DVD play in standalone?

The "VTS_01_0.VOB" file is typically used as 'first play' video. (Like the FBI warnings) So long as the .IFO file makes no reference to "VTS_01_0.VOB" you should be fine.

The VTS_01_0.VOB usually contains the menu stuff, and also can contain the first play item (but the first play item can be anywhere). If you have used GET VTS SECTORS, the menu is usually gone, so you don't need the _0.VOB file.
I have found that if your DVD on HD plays okay with PowerDVD, then it will also play on a settop player with no problem.
