Hey guys, I'm trying to convert my old game tapes from vhs to VCD. I have a p4,1.5 ghz pc, I have the Pinnacle Studio Pro TV card that seems will only capture in AVI. That's fine, because I visited VCD Help and have TMPGEnc. Here's the problem, when I record from vhs, the audio is out of sync almost a full half second. Even worse, for some reason virtual dub will not open avi file saying "Cannot find decompressor for format 'PIM1' unknown". I also tried DBPOWER AMP music converter - it wouldn't see the file (apparently only works with files that are already converted to MPEG). I also tried the multiplex option in TMPGEnc and got the mp2 file, used golden whatever (as instructed by VCD help) to create a wav but when it did, the wav sound of the game was sped up really fast. I also attempt to go ahead and convert it over to MPEG and then extract the audio for wav file and it gave me the speedy audio again.
I've grown really frustrated as I am sure this is a simple conversion. What am I doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.___________
