I upgraded to Windows 2000 to get MJPEG codec stable, which it did. I spent all night getting TV Wonder to work. Did that. I got hit by something unexpected - Pioneer DVD writer started spitting out coasters under Windows 2000! It always said "Communication error" well into a session. On the box Win2K is identified as compatible, I had the latest writer firmware, SP1, and the latest Nero. Now I am on Win98 again. It has got to be very wrong. What happened?

Have you tried making sure the controller is setup right in device manager? Its not the fix for your exact error but its worth a try.
You'll need Adobe's PDF reader to see this link.

I followed the instructions in the doc and was able to do the first successful burn in Win2K. I owe you one.
